I'm back, sort of...

Postby Caboobaroo on Mon Apr 21, 2014 5:30 pm

I've been off the boards now for almost 6 months but I should be checking in on them a bit more regular.

After my wedding in September, I started having kidney stone issues which have been fun. Currently have passed 3 of the 7 the CT scan showed. This was on top of the Bursitis in my shoulder that has been a ton of fun too. I have also been dealing with my father's health which has started to take a plunge the last couple months so I've been spending some extra time seeing my family instead of working on the XT6.

Anyways, now that the weather has been getting better, I need to swap in another radiator into the XT6 as it cracked during the snowstorm we had a few months back. I've also got tons of other parts to be installed into both the XT6 and my Outback but that'll happen when I have some extra time

Yep, good to see you back, but definitely take care of yourself and your family first, I too have been dealing with my Mothers health issues, so I understand...

I'm not sure if I'm going to make it to WCSS this year. If I do, we will probably only take the Outback and leave the XT6 at home. She still needs a radiator put in, a new clutch fork, and to be plated and tagged after going through emissions. Hard to work at home on the car when you have no place to work on it

As it is, I have a bunch of work to do on the Outback and since that's the daily driver, it comes first. Gotta replace the driver front door (torn shell from a loose window regulator  ), RF wheel bearing, replace the steering rack, replace the front control arm bushings, and some housekeeping items (interior swap from beige to black, replace some of the rear bumper clips, replace the right side skirt).

Just staying busy :|

Oh and my dad's health is improving. Has had acute renal failure and ended up draining 6 liters from his gut  says he now has an appetite again, can actually move around the house instead of being immobilized and because of all the fluid they took from him, he dropped 25 pounds roughly! Still nowhere near being 100% but he's doing a bit better.

Well it's been a hell of a weekend....

Friday my father passed away from heart failure. His heart stopped on the way to the hospital and couldn't be revived. It was fairly quick for him, his body shut down in less then 48 hours.

My family is doing well. I will unfortunately won't be diving into the XT6 or the RX for awhile as I'm using all my spare time to see my family and help with the transition. I will check in from time to time for updates but for right now, I get to step up and help my mother, sisters and brother through this.

Been trolling around here the last month as some slow work has been happening to the XT6. Had to swap a new transmission in it last night, pretty much lost second gear.

It's been hard for my mother not having my dad around but I've been keeping the family strong and trying to help get through this time. Then last week I noticed a couple spots on my stomach, which spread around half of my torso.
Got me a case of shingles, yippy

Is 2014 over yet with?
