Fury - is still around.

Postby Fury WRXT on Tue Dec 31, 2013 5:26 am

Hey all. Just have a slightly different user name for the time being. Was very busy for a while there, but when using a new tablet, I was logged out and couldn't log back in.
I couldn't even seem to be able to get in touch with admin, to reset my profile.

Not much on the XT, other than a small fire in the wiring loom, due to alarm shorting to the body. Could have been worse.
Anyway, as it is New years Eve here with 2.5 hrs to go till 2014, happy new year to all.

My apologies to those trying to contact me, it seems that I didn't get any notifications either.
Looking forward to catching up
Cheers for now, Chris ( Fury).... well... Fury WRXT for now

All repaired. No biggie, 2 things started it, I had modified the wiper transmission and placement, extending the arm etc, which tightened the loom somewhat, so it was re directed. 1 issue was it just touched the under side of the arm near the wiper motor and eventually scraping the insulation to bare copper. This created a small short , lasting a fraction of a second. The alarm loom also used this path along the firewall and had done a similar thing with exposing the wire core on the ign feed. Once grounded it created a spark and eventually caused a small fire, which took out about 2mts of loom to the battery .

Fortunately I caught it in time and no serious damage. Part of the alarm works, part disconnected for the time being, along with the key-less entry which I would like to get going again soon.
