I've found a couple XT turbos in the area but they are pre '87. Anything different between those and the newer style?

there are two front bumpers:
pre 1987.5
and
1987.5+

1987.5+ bumpers are all the same - XT6 and XT's. the headlight washers are even an add on to the later year bumpers, there was no separate bumper available for that option - simply drill the holes and attach them to a bumper to make it an XT6 bumper.

i think it's the same for rear bumpers too....two variations based on the same year split with the earlier having the lights inside the bumper and the later not.

So earlier today, my roommate who is also my coworker, found on Reddit the news video on Steve's accident. Complete with interview and everything. I'm going to see if I can find it and will post a link up when I do!

Hope you're doing better buddy!

Just wanted to give you guys a quick update. I am now home from the hospital. I have 85% movement in my right leg and 5% movement in my left leg. This is a huge improvement over a week ago. the support I have gotten from my friends, co workers, other subaru enthusiasts, and random people ive never met has been overwhelming. I managed to get out of the hospital without paying anything out of pocket except that damn 400 in impound fees. Wanted to thank all of you for spreading the word for me and for all your kind words. I am still looking for an early (85-87.0) bumper and all the stuff in my signature.

Thank you all again,
Steve

Good to hear you're home man! I hope you can find the moron responsible for putting you in this mess.

As far as the bumpers go, the later ones would have more room for things like intercoolers. Just a thought.

I can dig that, and they are probably more aerodynamic to boot.

Mate, so sorry to hear... have not been on the forum for a couple of weeks, pleased you are ok. Not pleased that you have to suffer the whole broken leg thing and the fact that they just drove away. But at least you are alive - could have been FAR worse. can you reclaim the impound fee - being an accident victim? Would be worth a try...you may get some sympathy if you rolled up in person and explained what went on, so they remember.
