Crimany man...
My work connection is much faster than a lot of home connections and it pales in comparison. We don't have much fiber over here.

This is with comcrap and their speedboost. Its only that fast for the first 30 seconds, which is all that test is good for.
After 30s, it drops down to my actual speed which is 6000/1000.

@Joost: I'm super jealous of your amazingly fast speeds.

Even with the likes of Verizon FiOS or DOCSIS 4 on its way, our speeds will still pale in comparison. Too much real estate in the US for all that fiber.

I'm actually hoping to movie into a FiOS (50000/20000) area with my next apartment. In order to do so I'd be moving into the middle of a city that's trying to assert itself as the city of cities (Bellevue is so full of itself :P).

From what they tell us at work, the nice thing with FIOS is that with no upgrades to the infrastructure or equipment, they can upgrade the speed to 100m overnight.
