Re: MY 87 VORTEX

Been too many years but fairly sure each camshaft has 2 seals. One is obvious but the other is a tiny o-ring that requires unbolting the whatever is directly behind the cam sprocket. If my memory is correct, that seal is long gone and you will end up with an oil leak if not replaced.

Rockauto has some and here is a link to another company. Don't know if either will ship overseas.

Re: Blinker/flasher unit location - part of the blinker switch?

I don't believe that. Look for it on the fuse panel.

Re: MY 87 VORTEX

I seem to recall years ago someone used backing plates from a Legacy. Had to be slightly modified.

Once parted out an XT6, body was too rusted out, by just unbolting the 4 engine cradle bolts and probably less than 8 other bolts and just lifted the body from the engine/transmission.

Re: Headlights not turning on

Have owned 5 XT6s over the years and never had a problem with the buttons. Problem has always been with whatever that part is called that the stalk activates.

Re: Headlights not turning on

Just from memory, almost sure the steering wheel needs pulled.

If you have headlights when the stalk is pulled back and no lights when the stalk is in either low beam or high beam mode, almost sure the problem is the contacts. Easy to see once access gained to the switch.

Re: Headlights not turning on

My guess is the contacts in the combination switch. Try cleaning. I used WD40 years ago and that worked. I still have a combination switch I saved from many years ago.
