Re: MY 87 VORTEX

You can compare xt and xt6 part number to see if lads are the same. Rear pads are the same between them but I forget if fronts are.

Re: MY 87 VORTEX

It depends greatly on the market and I doubt many here know your market.

Here you would have to wait a long time just to sell it, if ever. I have an xt6 trans but doubt it would ever sell. Your market is probably better.

Re: Trick to headlight replacement?

Nice.

Great thanks crazyhorse, good to know.
Is it obvious how and what to replace them with when the bulbs blow?
They're pretty good about not blowing often?

Re: Trick to headlight replacement?

Oh yeah some of the side screws are hidden.
You can move the headlights by hand by turning that small knob. Just don't be touching it if the lights activate as it'll spin and lights will move.

I feel like maybe I've used some right angle screw drivers before as well for those.

Re: MY 87 VORTEX

Mechanically yes it'll all swap and bolt right up.

Electrically you'll have some things to work around.

pedal assembly, center console, shifter, linkage, instrument cluster too

If it's a FWD it'll be additional work and sometimes you have to drill the center carrier bearing mount bolt holes

Re: Trick to headlight replacement?

It's been awhile but did you try to remove the screws on the silver trim holding the light in place?

Its been awhile but It's only the metal retainer holding the bulbs in, the trim just needs loosened enough to remove those screws to loosen the retaining ring around the bulb.
