Re: Coolant leak, head gasket?

My XT6 had an external coolant leak at the driver side head gasket at 135k. I also diagnosed another XT6 with an external head gasket leak on the passenger side.

So not uncommon in my opinion.

Re: 15 x 6, ET 35 = safe?

If you want to run an 8" wide wheel on your XT6, it will need to be anywhere from 38-45mm offset, period. 35 will be too little and cause rubbing on the rear quarters and anything more then 45 will cause rubbing on the suspension.

Re: What to use for XT6 engine / trans mounts?

Sure looks like it to me. You will need to remove the two brackets in the snout and replace it with the mount from the XT6 diff. Then it bolts right up.

Re: What to use for XT6 engine / trans mounts?

It's a bolt in affair. As long as it has the factory axle stubs that came in the diff originally, there's no modification needed.

Re: Ultimate 80s: Are rear window louvers still available?

I would love a set as well if someone decides to replicate them. I just hope it doesn't turn into another Kaminari scenario....

Re: "Dimpled" headliner - how to remove?

The XT headliner you descrobe is factory. I had the same issue with my 89 XT6 headliner falling so it was replaced with one from an XT. I actually have some 3M Super 77 adhesive and new gray suede to wrap it when I get around to it.

Re: Ultimate ER27 build

I plan to let it sit for a few weeks to let everything settle in before I go back over and recheck torque. Then it's a matter of getting the cams and rockers on, reseal the water pump and oil pump, throw a few other new seals in, toss my new timing belt components on and into the car it'll go!
